Sevier County Trustee - Property Tax Freeze

Description:

Homeowners qualifying for the program will have the property taxes on their principal residence frozen at a base tax amount, which is the amount of taxes owed in the year they first qualify for the program. As long as the owner continues to qualify for the program each year, the amount of property taxes owed will not change even if there is a property tax increase.

Program Fees:

No Fee to apply for program - property owner still responsible for paying property taxes.

Eligibility:

*Must be 65 years of age or older by the end of the year in which the application is filed.
*Must own principal place of residence in Sevier County.
*Cannot have an income from all sources that exceeds the county income limit established for that tax year. Call for income information.
*Income of all property owners if joint tax return is filed.
