Description:

Works to eliminate slum and blight conditions throughout Memphis by enforcing housing and abandoned vehicle code violations. To make a complaint about problem housing or vehicles; for initial complaints, call the Mayor's Citizen Service Center (901-636-6500) or this office (901-636-2136); call main office or this number (901-636-7464) to check on the status of existing housing or abandoned vehicle complaints. Provides aggressive campaign to sue negligent property owners in the city of Memphis to force the owners to rehab or give up titles of blighted properties to the city for demolition or rehab. The owners of foreclosed properties that are neglected will be especially targeted. Call this office (901-636-2136) or the Mayor's Citizen Service Center (901) 636-6500 [3-1-1] to report neglected properties or vehicles in the city. Be prepared to give the address and condition of the neglected property. The City's Code Enforcement Department and City Attorney's office will follow up and take action on blighted properties.
