Nashville Electric Service is one of the 11 largest public electric utilities in the nation, distributing energy to more than 460,000 customers in Middle Tennessee. Since 1939, NES has been committed to providing safe and reliable power in Nashville and Davidson County and parts of the six surrounding counties. In addition to providing electricity, NES offers dark fiber, renewable energy, electric vehicle and bill assistance programs, as well as an electric forklift rebate program for commercial customers.

Intake Process:
Call customer relations or visit the NES main office in person for assistance. You need two current forms of identification (i.e., driver's license, Social Security card, passport, birth certificate). One must be US government issued (or a political subdivision thereof) and one must include a photograph.
Program Fees:
NES requires a security deposit of $250, as well as a connection fee of $20 before service can be connected. The security deposit can be waived with one of the following: instant credit check with a credit bureau at no expense to the customer or satisfactory payment history with NES within the past 12 months (i.e. no disconnections, no more than one returned payment and no more than two disconnect notices). Other fees vary based on services provided and the amount of energy used. Security lighting is available for a monthly rental fee.
