Memphis Office of Youth Services - MPLOY Youth Summer Employment Program

Description:

The MPLOY Youth Summer Experience (MPLOY) is a locally funded initiative administered by the Memphis Office of Youth Services (MOYS) that provides City of Memphis youth ages 14 to 22 with meaningful and rewarding summer experiences for six weeks. MPLOY offers a variety of career path options according to the participants strengths and interests, including soft skills training, entry-level positions, and internships.

To make this possible, MPLOY partners with businesses, organizations, and non-profits to provide a meaningful experience for the summer. These entities offer structured job opportunities for youth, during the summer, while the cost of the participants' stipends is covered by City of Memphis.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

No Income Requirements. Apply Online, via the Memphis Office of Youth Services website (wwwcityofmemphisyouth.org.) Applications taken December 1-31 for the coming summer. Applicants will be selected using a computer-based lottery process. Selected applicants will be required to have a government issued ID (the applicant, not the parent,) copy of their social security card, show proof of residency within the City of Memphis and proof of education. Applicants may apply online using computers at the City of Memphis Employment Offices at 125 N Main, 1B-33 or at the Benjamin Hooks Library, 3030 Poplar Avenue, 1st Floor.

Eligibility:

Youth must reside in the City of Memphis, be between 14 and 22yrs old, and apply online; applicants are selected by a lottery from pool of applicants. NOTE: PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PROGRAM ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE CITY OF MEMPHIS MAP PROGRAM.
