Description:

Provides a professional organization of Shelby County physicians that offers support for area medical doctors in a wide variety of ways, including education, programming, lobbying, networking and wellness. Makes referrals to physician members that include specialists, along with medical schools attended, board-certification status, and practice locations. Does not provide list of physicians accepting Medicaid or any other private or public insurance plans. Also maintains state-licensed, professional medical employment service called Med Temps for persons seeking medical and health care related employment or medical staffing in physician's offices. MMS is chartered through the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA).

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Summer Hours after Memorial Day: Mon - Thu 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Friday 8:00 am - Noon

No fee for referrals; physician members pay dues

Eligibility:

Anyone can request referrals. Membership open to medical doctors licensed in TN who practice and/or resides in Shelby County only; Med Temps is open to persons seeking or offering employment in medical and health care fields in physicians' offices only (no hospital or nursing home jobs offered)
