The hospital accepts donations of new toys and age-appropriate gifts through the Champ's Holiday House program, which distributes items in mid-December to patients. Items requested include: Batteries: AA, AAA, C, and 9-volt; Sweat pants, pajama pants, and leggings for adults & children (S-XXL); t-shirts for adults and children (S-XXL); Stuffed animals (medium-sized, 8 to 10 inches); Lego sets (boxes of Legos and themed kits); Phone chargers (Lightning cables, USB-C, and micro-USB); Model Magic; Small toys for our Emergency Department (dollar store type, small toys and activities); Medical play kits; Travel-sized toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, liquid body wash); Hair care products (travel size styling products, ethnic hair care products, brushes/combs, ponytail holders, headbands, barrettes); Small (wedding-sized) bubbles; Infant sound machines;
Nurture Smart Mobiles (hospital grade, 100-percent wipeable); Portable DVD players; Gift cards (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Google Play, Apple Music or App Store), $10 or $20 increments; Books: Toddler board books and young adult or teen series; New-release and popular movie DVDs; Cards: playing cards, Uno, Skip Bo, etc.; Crayola markers and crayons - non-toxic and washable. Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are always welcome. Children's Hospital offers volunteering programs for adults, college students and high school students. Volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of a weekly volunteer shift for at least six months. All undergraduate college volunteer applicants must be available for two consecutive semesters (including Summer session) to begin volunteering.
