Volunteer Behavioral Health provides a continuum of services including, but not limited to, outpatient counseling, evaluation services, medication management, care management, intensive outpatient programs and crisis services to treat mental illness and co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use issues). The VBH Franklin campus offers case management, medication management, Adult and Children's Outpatient Therapy, Intensive Outpatient program, Mobile Crisis, PATH, SOAR, SBBHL, Behavioral Safety Net for adults and children, Forensic Evaluations and Finding My Recovery Online Support Program.

Description
Provides the PATH [Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness] and SOAR program, assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness who have mental illness or co-occurring disorders; the program funds community-based outreach services to connect individuals to mental health, substance abuse, case management, and other support services as well as limited housing services. The PATH Program offers assistance to homeless people who are mentally challenged or dealing with substance abuse. They work to help clients gain housing, employment, SSI, and mental health services. The SOAR program [SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery] that expedites getting social security approval for persons with a mental illness who are experiencing homelessness. PATH staff are provided at the VBH Madisonville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, Cookeville, Crossville, Franklin and Lebanon Campuses.

Eligibility
People 18 and older experiencing literal homelessness or who are at risk for homelessness, who have not received mental health or substance use services in six months or more. Anyone who is homeless or within 7 days of eviction with mental illness or substance abuse problem or both may apply.

Forensic Evaluations: Fees start at $800.00 with additional costs depending on the type of evaluation needed; Parenting Assessments: Fees start at $900.00 with additional costs depending on the type of evaluation needed; Police/Sheriff Employment Evaluations: $170.00

Description
Provides programs for adults and children that address mental health conditions, addiction and co-occurring disorders. Includes the adult IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) that meets three times a week for three hours per day to provide skills to prevent relapse into substance abuse; and the FEPI program {First Episode Psychosis Initiative} an early intervention service for adolescents and young adults ages 15-23 who have experienced first-episode psychosis. Also offers Finding My Recovery, a free online support group for adults in recovery.
