Description:
The Hernando Social Service Office is one of six SHSM offices which provides assistance on a case by case basis for low income residents of Hernando and Nesbit, plus the surrounding communities of Eudora, Love and Pleasant Hill in Mississippi. Offers emergency financial help with rent/mortgage, homelessness, prescriptions, gas money and utility assistance and other emergency needs. Provides emergency food (in the form of groceries from the food pantry or food vouchers for mobile pantry sites); and clothing, household items and furniture assistance in the form of vouchers to the thrift store (495 E Commerce Street in Hernando) and item requests from our Gift-in-Kind program; and emergency home repair referrals for low income persons in need through the Volunteer Program.
