Description:

Provides weatherization program for a limited number of qualifying homes per year, assistance with electric and propane utility bills and rent and mortgage assistance to families with low income in Tate County, MS who meet other eligibility requirements. Rental assistance for eligible residents is determined on a case-by-case basis, with usually only a portion of the total bill paid by the agency. Rent and mortgage payment assistance is contingent upon lender guarantee that resident can stay in their home for at least another 30 days.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Closed for lunch Noon - 12:30 pm)

Intake Process:

Call for details; must meet income (be at or below 125% of federal poverty level) and household size requirements; to qualify for weatherization program, must own your own home (currently a waiting list for this program). For rent/mortgage assistance, seniors and persons with disabilities can call to get name on waiting list.
