AKA:
Launch Pad
Description:
Launch Pad provides shelter and support to unhoused young adults in Middle Tennessee in the city of Nashville. The agency is the only LGBTQ+ affirming shelter in Middle Tennessee. Launch Pad offers an emergency shelter from November 1st- March 31st of each year, a transitional housing program (for ages 18-24) and an independent supported living program with case management and resources for young people ages 18-26 experiencing homelessness, with a special focus on LGBTQ+ young adults. No couples or children are accepted in the programs.
The seasonal emergency shelter program offers an LGBTQ+ affirming, safer sleeping environment, with a warm meal and shower during colder months of the year (November 1-March 31) in partnership with different churches; locations change each season. The transitional housing program, in partnership with Community Care Fellowship, offers the sixth Mobile Housing Navigation Center in Nashville. This is a year round, grant-funded program with 15 dorm-style sleeping pods for unhoused young adults to stay in for 90-120 days while receiving case management. The Independent Supported Living program offers apartment accommodations to unhoused LGBTQ+ adults 18-26, with free rent and utilities for up to six months so residents can focus on finding employment, permanent housing, set education goals and more.
