Description:

Provides faith-based non-profit that distributes food and other needed items to the underserved and/or homeless in several weekly distribution events at sites in Nashville and once a month in Chapel Hill, TN in Marshall County. Also provides food bags for children in need in some Metro Nashville public schools. The weekly distribution event called Church at the Bridge begins with a worship session before a hot meal, ready to eat groceries, seasonal clothing, hygiene items, and sleeping bags, tarps, backpacks and tents when available are distributed and open to all at two sites (Jefferson Street Bridge and Centennial Park). The Bridge also offers weekly hot meals and groceries (including dairy and fresh fruit when available) and hygiene items at several targeted senior centers and apartment complexes (Edgehill Seniors and Mercury Court) and at Pruitt Library and once a month at a drive through event in Chapel Hill, TN. The Chapel Hill monthly event provides a hot meal, 50-60 lbs of groceries, and seasonal items like back to school supplies and Christmas toys for children, ages 0 -16 years of age..

Jefferson Street Bridge (Church Under the Bridge): Every Tuesday night starting at 5:00 pm at Jefferson Street Bridge (1122 2nd Avenue North, Nashville 37208)
Centennial Park: Every Wednesday at 11:00 am
Edgehill Seniors (1101Edgehill Avenue, Nashville 37212): Every Tuesday at 11:00 am
Mercury Courts (411 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville 37210): Every Wednesday at Noon
Pruitt Library (Charles E. Davis Boulevard, Nashville, 37210): Every Thursday at Noon

CHAPEL HILL OUTREACH SITE: 310 N Horton Parkway, Chapel Hill, TN on the first Monday of the month, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm as a drive-through site (Christmas event may be later in the month; call for details in the fall).

Volunteers needed for both warehouse and outreach work; Warehouse volunteer jobs include sorting of food, clothing, packing food boxes and food bags; Outreach work involves loading and unloading trucks, and serving guests with food, hot meals and clothing; or the delivery of food bags for kids to local schools (this job requires a background check.
