Description:

Eligibility requirements for UETHDA services are set by State and Federal funding guidelines and may include income, age, disability, or demonstrated need of a service. Eligibility will vary by service and will be determined when an application for service is made.

SERVICES:

HOUSING - HOMELESS CLIENT SERVICES INCLUDE:
Rent Assistance Program - Pro-rated 4 month rent assistance.
Deposits - Rent/Utility deposits required for move in of homeless client.
Clothing - Client clothing due to an emergency.
Food - Food for client due to an emergency.
Household Goods - Household items to assist homeless client to begin housekeeping.
Personal Care Items - Includes soap, deodorant, razors, etc.

HOUSING - CRISIS/EMERGENCY SERVICES INCLUDE:
Past Due Rent - Rent past due to loss of income/not fault of client.
Past Due Water - Water past due to loss of income and/or other qualifying conditions.
Mortgage - Past due mortgage.
Food - Food for client due to an emergency.
Heat Pump Repair - Must be homeowner.

EDUCATION SERVICES INCLUDE:
Education Expenses - GED testing, dual enrollment of high school student, tuition; state exams; books.
Car Repair/Car Payments - Assist with cost of repair of car required for continued employment.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES INCLUDE:
Clothing - Client clothing needed for employment (scrubs, uniforms, etc).
Car Repair/Car Payments - Assist with cost of repair of car required for continued employment.
Stipend - Payment made directly to the client for assistance for meals, gas, bus tickets, etc.
Training/Certification - Fees for certification of training (F endorsement, state exams, etc).
Tools/Equipment - Items needed for client to begin/maintain employment.
Pre-Employment/Employment Physicals - work physicals.
Dental Care - Extractions and dentures / Only when necessary for employment.
Vision Care - Eye glasses / Only when necessary for employment.

HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDE (ONLY for clients age 65 or older or disabled):
Medical Items - Items medically necessary and/or essential for sustainability of life (Ensure, Depends, etc).
Dental.
Vision.
Hearing Aids.
Prescription Drug Assistance.

SELF SUFFICIENCY SERVICES INCLUDE:
CASE MANAGEMENT - ALL SERVICES CAN BE PROVIDED THROUGH CASE MANAGEMENT.
Focuses on educational/technical training programs that will lead toward career enhancement and job opportunities, and on removing any barriers that would prevent a client from achieving their life goals.

INCOME MANAGEMENT SERVICES INCLUDE:
Household Financial Counseling - Budget Preparation and Budget Counseling.
Information and Referral - Referral for financial literacy and budgeting classes.
SSI Designated Representative Payee Services - Ongoing case management and household monthly budgeting.

LINKAGES AND REFERRAL SERVICES INCLUDE:
Linkage - Provides the "link" between a service provided in the community and the client (Atmos).
Referral - Provides information and verbal and/or written referral to various resources in the community.

NUTRITION SERVICES INCLUDE:
USDA Commodities - Assist families with food on an as-needed basis.
USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program.

WAP (WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM):
Insulation - Attic, floor and electric water heaters.
Caulking - Doors and windows.
Installation - Weather stripping and thresholds.
Installation - Smoke detectors.
Installation - CO (carbon monoxide) monitors.
Replacement/Repair - Water heater.
Replacement - Refrigerator.
Replacement/Repair - Heat Pump.
Replacement/Repair - Vapor barrier.

LIHEAP (LOW-INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM):
Income based program that provides assistance that goes directly to energy provider.
LIHEAP can provide assistance with: firewood, propane, butane, kerosene, coal, oil and electricity payments.

LIHWAP (LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLD WATER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM):
Income based program that provides assistance directly to the water provider.

TEMPORARY HEATING/COOLING SOURCE:
Room Air Conditioners.
Portable Space Heaters.
