Description:

People can apply for utility (heating and electric) assistance through the regular on-going LIHEAP program or the crisis program. People who are elderly, disabled, have a child under 6, and/or just lost a job might be eligible for assistance through the crisis program. Otherwise, they can apply for regular energy assistance, which offers year-round assistance with heating and cooling bills. Clients cannot apply for crisis and regular assistance in the same year. Can only receive assistance from one program per year. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Apply online or call ahead for more information. Walk-in during business hours

Clients will need to provide:
1) 12-month printout of their utility bill(s)
2) 2 months worth of proof of income (Check stub, social security benefits, etc.)
3) Photo ID

Program Fees:

No Fee

Eligibility:

Low income residents in Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson, Haywood, Madison, and McNairy Counties
