Description:

Assists low-income, elderly, and disabled Davidson County residents with a past-due rent balance or a past-due water, gas, or electricity bill. Help is available only once every 12 months and assistance is limited to no more than $300. Individuals can apply online at www.needlink.org or come to the office on Monday or Tuesday between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Provides rent assistance once in a 12 month period to residents of Davidson County who live in income based housing. Rent assistance is available up to $300 and rent must be past due. Electricity Assistance applicant must be an NES customer and have a past due electricity bill with a cut-off notice. Past-due bill amount must be less than $300 to be eligible for assistance. Otherwise, the individual will be asked to pay the past-due balance down. If the individual is unable to do so, NeedLink staff will help create a plan to get the balance paid down. Gas Help applicants must be a resident of Davidson County and have a past due Piedmont gas bill. Past-due bill amount must be less than $300 to be eligible for assistance. Water Service Help applicants must be a customer of Metro Water Services or Madison Suburban Utility District and have a past due water bill. Past-due bill amount must be less than $300 to be eligible for assistance.

Apply online or bring in paper applications on Monday or Tuesday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The office is located inside of Westminster Presbyterian Church. If applying in person, clients MUST park and enter building on North Wilson Boulevard. As you face the church from West End Avenue, this is the street to the right of the church. There is a sign that says Wilson Entrance with a NeedLink sign below outside the correct entrance.

Rent help is for persons who live in income based housing and meet other criteria. Rent assistance is available up to $300 once within a 12 month period and rent must be past due.
