Provides discounted computer services for eligible families and veterans in area where Comcast Internet service is available. Eligible families must have at least one child in the household who is receiving a free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program. Program now also includes veterans who are low income and receiving some form of public assistance (3 core programs: NSLP, HUD and Veteran); see website or call for more details on eligibility. Program includes affordable internet rates ($9.95/month plus tax), low-cost laptop ($149.99 plus tax) purchased online and free internet training online and in print for participants.

Eligibility:

CHECK YOUR ZIP CODE TO SEE IF YOU ARE COVERED BY SERVICE FIRST BY PHONE OR ONLINE. Eligible residents include families who live in areas served by Comcast Internet service and who have at least one child who receives a free school lunch; also veterans who are low income and receiving some form of public assistance. Must not currently be receiving Comcast Internet service or have had the service in the last 90 days; also cannot currently owe Comcast overdue fees or unreturned equipment. Medicaid recipients also qualify.
