Description:
The TWRA issues hunting and fishing licenses, provides law enforcement to reduce poaching and illegal hunting, aids in preserving endangered species, protection of wetlands, wildlife management to control animal populations, forest management, hunter education and shooting range, engineering and construction of mainly boat ramps, fish management and hatcheries, boating education, wildlife and aquatic education and maps. Intake Process:
Hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased online or through retailers across the state; check the website for a complete list. Harvest reports may also be made online by midnight the day of harvest.
Program Fees:
Fees vary depending upon services offered. Fishing license (excluding trout) is $38/year or $59/year (including trout). Small game license (private property) is $39/year. Waterfowl license is $137/year. Sportsman license is $170/year. A Reelfoot Lake fishing license is $54/year. TWRA firing range package is $305/year. Tier 2 TWRA firing range 2-hour license is $7.50. Waterfowl license for Reelfoot Lake is $92/year. Fees are subject to change.
Eligibility:
Customers must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License or State of TN issued Photo ID to be considered a Resident for fishing and hunting licenses. Residency is verified through the TN Dept. of Safety's online system.
