Description:

Federal court bankruptcy services include hearings of debtor petitions and bankruptcy cases regarding Chapters 7 (General Bankruptcy), 11 (Reorganization), 12 (Farmer) and 13 (Wage Earners Plan). Maintains records of bankruptcy cases for the Western Division, which includes Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton counties in TN. This office does NOT provide assistance on how to file bankruptcy. Individuals needing assistance should consult lawyers. Files may be reviewed at this office or information may be requested in writing to verify social security information or to verify check filing status.

Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 4:00 pm; last Tuesday of the month 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
A drop box is available outside the door of Room 500

FILING FEES FOR NEW CASES: $338.00/Chapter 7; $1738.00/Chapter 9; $1738.00/Chapter 11; $278.00/Chapter 12; $313.00/Chapter 13; $1738.00/Chapter 15. RECORDS FEES: $31.00/information requested by mail; free to persons who conduct their own searches; $.50/page any court document. All fees subject to change.
