Description
Programs that operate a telephone response service staffed by trained personnel who assess requests for emergency assistance and dispatch the appropriate emergency response agency (law enforcement, fire, paramedics/EMTs or ambulance services, the latter per a contract with the municipality).

Description
Participants in the academy will learn about the intricacies of police work through the prospective of a variety of guest speakers, including members of the police department's various specialized components. This course involves traveling to satellite locations within Davidson County on select course nights. You must provide your own transportation to these locations. Important: While completion of this course gives citizens an understanding of the workings of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, it does not make a participant a certified law enforcement officer, nor is it designed to train citizens to perform law enforcement duties.

Classes will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm through May.
Eligibility
-Resident or have employment in Davidson County (this will be verified) -At least 21 years of age -No arrest record (minor traffic violations are excluded) (this will be verified) this includes misdemeanor citations, if you have one, please don't apply unless your record had been expunged no matter how long ago it occurred. -Able to attend a minimum of 9 of the 11 sessions to receive a certificate of completion
