Description:

Provides professional training curriculum designed to improve the quality of regional law enforcement and correctional services. The Sheriff of Shelby County, the Director of Training and the staff provide practical application in all segments of basic, in-service and specialized training. All officers must attend a forty-hour basic Peace Officer Instructor Development School. The law enforcement curriculum has been certified and approved by the State of Tennessee Peace Officer Standard and Training Commission. The corrections curriculum has been certified and approved by the Tennessee Corrections Institute.
