Description:

Provides a multi-agency team response to reports of suspected child sexual abuse or other severe abuse in Shelby County. A team of agencies at the Memphis Child Advocacy Center (including law enforcement, child protective services and the District Attorney's office) investigate and intervene in cases of reported abuse. The agency provides neutral fact-finding culturally responsive forensic interviews when requested by the Shelby County Child Protection Investigation Team. Victimized children and non-offending family members are eligible for family advocacy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. All services provided onsite at the Memphis CAC are free. ALL REPORTS OF SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT MUST BE MADE TO THE TN CHILD ABUSE HOTLINE AT (877) 237-0004.

The Memphis Child Advocacy Center provides Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention and response training for parents, professionals and volunteers who work with children. Stewards of Children is provided on-site at requesting organizations and is also available in an interactive, facilitator-led virtual format. The Memphis CAC also offers child protection policy consultation for youth-serving organizations.
