Withholding of Removal Relief

Programs that assist in filing applications for withholding of removal, a form of relief from removal that is available to aliens who can show that it is more likely than not that they will be persecuted in their country of nationality or last residence because of their race, religion, political opinion, membership in a particular social group, or nationality. Unlike asylees, individuals who have been granted this form of relief may not use the grant to adjust their status to lawful permanent residence.
