Description:

Explore Memphis 2024: Adventure Begins @ Your Library!

Ages: All! The reading challenge program is separated into three groups: Children's, Teens, and Adults.

Registration: None! As you can see from the attached marketing images (these are not the final proofs), customers will have the ability to provide their information on completion of the program. This saves us the step on the front end of sign up. This year, customers simply need to ask for (or you can offer!) a reading log. Customers can also print a reading log off from our website (not currently, but beginning in May).

Program Dates: June 1, 2024 - July 31, 2024 (Logs can be collected until Saturday, August 3, 2024).

Marketing: Has been sent to print! I have attached all of the files for you peruse - please don't print any marketing from this email, it is not the final copy.

Reading Challenge Breakdown:

Children (0 - 12)

Children can bring in their log to earn prizes throughout the summer, or once at the end of the summer (while supplies last).

Children can color in an area on their map for every 100 minutes they read.

IF a child comes in with 1 area/zip code completed (100 minutes read) they receive 1 scratch-off. If a child comes in with 4 areas completed (400 minutes) they receive 4 scratch-offs, and so on.

There is space available on the back of each scratch-off for the child's name and contact info. Please collect filled out scratch-offs from customers when they collect their prizes and route the scratch-offs to Dara Day by August 7, 2024.

Stamp each completed space on the reading log with your reference desk's date stamp (if your branch does not have a date stamp, please order one from Supply) to track how many prizes a child has already collected.

When a child has completed their entire reading log, they can turn it in to be entered to win a grand prize (Annual Zoo Pass good for two (2) adults with a maximum of six (6) children or grandchildren, ages 21 and under, PLUS two (2) unnamed guests. All children and at least one adult must be named. Named adults and children must reside in the same household (with the exception to grandchildren).).

Route all reading logs to Dara Day by August 7, 2024.

What is new this year? We are not using Beanstack. We will use paper logs and prize tickets to track participation both per branch and system-wide. Each branch will receive marketing, reading logs, pencils & bookmarks, scratch-off prize tickets and an assortment of prizes in May.

Further, if you would like to have extra prizes, by all means! Each branch will have $250 to spend on Explore Memphis incentives and programming.

Teens (13 - 18) and Adults (19+)

Teens and Adults will receive the same reading log.
Customers set their reading goal for the summer (it could be one book, it could be Jordan Howard)
When customers meet their goal (they can list the titles they've read on their log) they can turn their log in for a prize (while supplies last).
When a customer has completed their reading log, they can turn it in to be entered to win a grand prize. Please indicate if the customer is a Teen or an Adult somewhere on the log, and route all reading logs to Dara Day by August 7, 2024.
Teens and Adults will have separate grand prizes (Wireless drones for Teens, Kindle Unlimited for Adults)
