Description
Residents in Metro Nashville's Urban and General Services Districts have their brush and yard waste collected four times a year on a rotation schedule along 12 routes. Instead of chippers, Metro Public Works uses knuckle boom trucks equipped with a mechanical arm that lifts brush piles up and into a trailer that's pulled behind the truck. This method of collecting brush is quieter and safer than using wood chippers, and allows Metro to provide quicker and more efficient service. To assist citizens who need brush disposal more often than the four collections provided annually by Metro, Public Works offers free brush disposal for Davidson County residents (pick-up truck loads only, no trailers) at both of the Nature's Best Organics of Tennessee locations and at the Ezell Pike Convenience Center.
Hours
Ezell Pike convenience center: Tues - Sat 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (no more than a level pickup truck and no trailers); Nature's Best Organics of Tennessee Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, Sat 8:00 am - noon.
Required Documents
Valid ID showing Davidson County residence.
Eligibility
Any Davidson County resident may take brush and yard waste to the Ezell Pike convenience center; only residents in the Urban and General Services Districts will have brush and yard waste picked up curbside.
Fees
No fee for pickup truck loads; trailers will be assessed a fee.
Intake Procedure
Put brush out before the first day the trucks are scheduled to be in your Area Place your brush where your garbage is collected â at the curb if your trash is collected there or in the alley if you have alley trash collection. Leaves and grass clippings can be put out with your limbs and other brush in brown paper bags only. Plastic bags will not be accepted.
