Provides technical and financial assistance to various communities of the state regarding environmental and conservation issues. A community may be defined as a county, city, utility district, business, industry, school, association, or general public. Successful implementation of these programs requires strong educational and awareness components. TDEC provides information regarding the preservation of TN's air, land and water, including information about the safe disposal of hazardous waste, tips for conservation and radon testing kits (Nashville only) and information, among other services. Memphis Field Office serves Fayette, Shelby and Tipton counties.
