Vitalant (formerly Lifeblood) provides full-service, non-profit blood center that delivers blood products to patients in 18 Mid-South area hospitals. Collects whole blood from donors at five donation centers and through mobile blood drives in the Memphis metro area. Agency is seeking blood donors and looking for businesses, schools, churches, government, civic groups and non-profits to host blood drives.

Hours:

Mon and Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Tue and Wed 11:00 am - 7:00 pm; Sat 7:00 am - 2:00 pm; Sun 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm; closed Thu

Intake Process:

Potential donor must provide a screening health history pertinent to blood donation, be interviewed to verify information on donor record, and take mini-physical (e.g, blood pressure, hematocrit, pulse).

Program Fees:

No fees for blood donors

Eligibility:

Most healthy people weighing at least 110 lbs and ages 17 and older may donate (or 16 years old with parental permission).
