The Center for Family Development provides a holistic approach to helping families through the Healthy Families program, which helps to empower families and community systems, promote nurturing parent-child relationships, and provides a visitation program. The free, voluntary in-home service supports low income families who are pregnant or with new babies, focusing on child development, health and safety, as well as family self-sufficiency.

Eligibility:
Low income parents in the second or third trimester of pregnancy or with children under three months old in Cheatham, Houston, Montgomery, Robertson, Stewart, Sumner and Trousdale counties. To be eligible for the Montgomery County program, the families must be low income, less than 21 years old, have a history with or current case with DCS, a history of/suspected substance abuse, be using nicotine products or be a member of the military.
