SMILE ON 65+ Dental Program - East Tennessee

Description:

The Smile on 65+ program provides low cost dental care for seniors 65 or older who are residents of Tennessee, do not have comprehensive dental insurance, and who meet income requirements. If the client has Medicare with dental benefits, those benefits may not exceed $500. Services can include dentures, partial dentures, cleanings, emergency care, preventive services, x-rays, extractions, crowns, and fillings. Some clinics may be able to do root canals on a sliding scale fee. Those in need of dental care must first call the customer service hotline at 1-800-509-6055 for pre-screening and to find out if they are eligible.

Services are provided for East Tennessee residents through 4 regional clinics: Interfaith Health Clinic - Knoxville (serves all counties in TN), Trinity Health Ministries - Maryville (serves Blount Co. only but will see limited cases from other counties only if referred by CDHC), Mountain Hope Good Shepherd - Sevierville (will see anyone who lives or works in Sevier Co.) and Servolution Health Services - Speedwell.

All clients can call the hotline first to be pre-screened, or can go to or call the clinic directly.

Trinity Dental Clinic, Maryville: Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm

Mountain Hope Good Shepherd, Sevierville: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

Servolution Health Services, Speedwell: Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm

Intake Process:

Call 1-800-509-6055 to be pre-qualified and for eligibility information. Dental office walk-ins not accepted. Client should bring a state ID, health insurance card and proof of income to their appointment.

Program Fees:

$25.00 per office visit once applicant is qualified.

Spanish translation is available at the Interfaith Clinic and Mountain Hope Good Shepherd

Eligibility:

Applicants must be at least 65 years old, have no dental insurance or be underinsured, be a Tennessee resident and be at 200% or lower of the Federal Poverty Income Level.
