SMILE ON 65+ Dental Program - Northeast Tennessee (Healing Hands Health Center)

Description:

Smile on 65+ program provides low cost dental care for seniors (65 or older) who are residents of Northeast TN who have no dental insurance and meet income requirements. Services can include dentures, partial dentures, cleanings, emergency care, preventative services, x-rays, extractions, crowns, and fillings. Customers in need of dental care should call the customer hotline at 1-800-509-6055 for pre-screening and to find out if they are eligible. Services will be provided for Northeast TN residents through four regional clinics, (Healing Hands - Bristol, Keystone - Johnson City, Friends in Need - Kingsport, and Johnson City Community Health Center - Johnson City).

Sponsored by Interfaith Dental, which is based out of Nashville, with a mission to create a healthier community by providing oral healthcare for those experiencing poverty.

Services Offered by SMILE ON 65+:
All preventative, emergent and basic restorative procedures and dentures are covered.

Education workshops are at no charge and all attendees will receive free oral hygiene kits.

Reimbursement for transportation is available, if needed, at the clinic.

Case management, through Community Dental Health Coordinators, is available to help seniors navigate available services and eliminate barriers to treatment.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call to be pre-qualified and for eligibility information (Walk-in not accepted). Client should bring a state ID, health insurance card and proof of income to their appointment.

Program Fees:

$25.00/office visit once applicant is qualified

Eligibility:

Applicants must be at least 65 years old, have no dental insurance, be a TN resident and be at 200% or lower of the Federal Poverty Income Level.
