Workforce Essentials, Inc. oversees the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), as a subgrantee of The National Council on Aging (NCOA); the program assists unemployed, low-income older adults ages 55 and older with poor employment prospects obtain jobs by providing job skill training and job search assistance. Serves Cannon, Davidson, DeKalb, Dickson, Hickman, Montgomery, Roberrtson, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner, Van Buren, Warren, Williamson and Wilson Counties.

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Intake Process:

Applicant must complete a pre-application packet and submit to one of the American Job Center offices in Northern Middle TN. Once the completed packet is received from applicant, someone from Workforce Essentials will call applicant to notify him/her of their eligibility status. If eligible and there is no waiting list, the applicant will be scheduled for an appointment to complete enrollment paperwork and for an orientation. The participant will be assigned to a community training partner to update and/or learn new job skills and to begin preparing for employment outside of the program. The participant will train up to 25 hours per week and earn minimum wage ($7.25/hour) while training. See website for more details: https://workforceessentials.com/individuals/

Eligibility:

Unemployed seniors, ages 55 and older, who live on a family income of no more than 125% of the federal poverty level in Cannon, Davidson, DeKalb, Dickson, Hickman, Montgomery, Roberrtson, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner, Van Buren, Warren, Williamson and Wilson Counties.
