The Tennessee Rehabilitation Center (TRC) in Smyrna is a state-operated, residential training center that provides career and technical education to prepare individuals with disabilities for greater independence and competitive integrated employment in their local communities. In addition to comprehensive vocational evaluation, TRC-Smyrna provides vocational skills training in several Areas of Study and offers additional enhancement courses as needed to support individual students' educational goals. Students who attend TRC participate in classroom instruction, hands-on-training, and campus life activities. Length of enrollment at TRC varies depending upon individual students' interest, abilities, and educational needs. TRC serves clients of the Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services, from all 95 counties in the state. Training programs include: Automotive Detailing Technician, Automotive Maintenance & Lubrication Technician, Business Education Technology, Certified Logistics Associate/Technician, Certified Production Technician, Customer Care, Entrepreneurship, Food Service, Manufacturing Assembly, Pharmacy Technician, and Power Equipment.

Intake Procedure
All prospective students must contact their Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) and discuss the options of attending TRC. If the decision is made to apply, the VRC will assist the individual in completing the Intent to Apply form and ensure all information is complete and signatures are obtained. The VRC will submit the form to the TRC Admission Office. The Admission office will review the individualâs file to obtain necessary information. They will then contact the prospective student and/or conservator to complete the application, provide information about TRC and answer questions the prospective student may have. The admissions office will also request any additional documentation that may be needed to assist in the acceptance process. Once a decision has been made, the VRC will be notified by email and a letter will be sent to the applicant informing him/her of the decision.

Description
The Pre-ETS Program provides transition services for youth with disabilities who are between the ages of 14-22 and who are still in school. The purpose of the program is to help prepare students for the transition from high school to a post-secondary career path which could include post-secondary education, training or employment. Pre-ETS is a collaboration between high schools and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR).

Eligibility
Pre-ETS is available to all students with disabilities between 14 and 22 years of age who meet the below requirements: Have a documented disability (via an IEP, 504 or physicians note). Are still in school (have not graduated from high school or are in an extended transition program in their high school), can be in Post-Secondary Education program and Are between the ages of 14-22.
