Description

Food services available at OSDTN include on-site food pantries in Nashville and Clarksville as well as deliveries and remote pick-up food in outlying counties. Each welcome center offers snacks and beverages throughout the day for Veterans. Gift cards for groceries are issued on a case-by-case basis. Venison 4 Veterans is available seasonally to provide frozen game meat donated by local hunters.

Description

Provides a supportive environment for men and women who need a few months of assistance transitioning back into civilian life. The program addresses addiction, financial issues and/or emotional stressors. Provides and operates a transitional housing program for male and female Veterans who are experiencing homelessness. There is no minimum stay in the program. Two tracks offered: -Bridge for Veterans who have access to housing resources and can successfully transition into permanent housing in 90-120 days. -Service Intensive for Vets who need to address issued cause by/resulting in homelessness before seeking independent housing. Each Veteran resident gets case management and assistance with other services.

Provides assistance with accessing VA benefits, starting or revising benefits claims and negotiating the benefits appeals process. OSDTN can connect you with your county Veteran Service Officer, who will help you file for benefits and navigate the complex VA system.

Provides job placement assistance, computer training, resume development, interview preparation, and budgeting to Veterans. Provides both case management and consultation for Veterans and spouses in career transition or who are looking for their next move. Services include resume help, interview coaching, professional help, interview coaching, professional licensing assistance, financial assistance for transportation, and access to professional clothing.
