TN Dept of Human Services - Obion County - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Description:

Provides food stamp EBT card for purchase of food items only; expedites emergency services (receipt of card within 5 days after being determined eligible) for families/individuals with little or no income. Persons without an address may use that of a shelter, friend, or Dept of Human Services. Customers may apply online, print off form from website or walk in to their local DHS office to apply. Call Family Assistance Service Center tollfree number (866-311-4287) to request changes to existing food stamp case or to request that an application be mailed to you; along with the application you will receive a pre-paid envelope to return the application to the local office.

The customer has the option of providing the needed verification by fax, mail or dropping the information off at one of the local offices.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be US citizens or legal aliens, reside in TN county in which applying, have access to cooking facilities (homeless shelters acceptable), and meet income guidelines based on federal poverty level. Income of entire household used to determine eligibility, except for ages 60 and over.
