Description:

Youth Encouragement Services (YES) operates two youth centers that offer educational and recreational programs as alternatives for kids ages 6-18 during after school hours, weekends and summer break. The programs offered by YES effectively keep children living in the inner city off the street, giving them a safe place to go where they can engage in social, educational and cultural activities, including tutoring, mentoring and after school and summer programs.

Hours:

Regular Office Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Summer Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Tutoring Services (during school year only): Tue 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

After School (During School Year) Regular Hours: Mon - Fri 4:30 am - 6:30 pm

No fee except for summer camps; call for details

Eligibility:

Children ages 6-18 years old (K-12th grade) in Davidson County specifically in or around the J.C. Napier/Tony Sudikum housing, Woodbine Housing Area or West Nashville Nations Area

Christian Adult Mentors needed to provide mentoring and encouragement through visits to the center, personal notes in the mail, encouraging telephone calls, and participation in field trip activities to children and youth; call or email for details
