Description:
Hope & Thrive Academy (HTA) is a post-secondary educational program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. HTA opened as a program of Holston Home for Children on July 1, 2021 and is licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) as an Adult Habilitation Day Program - Center Based with an approved occupancy of 40 students.
Hope & Thrive Academy (HTA) exists to express the love of Christ to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
After high school, few opportunities exist for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the threat of becoming inactive and reclusive increases. Seeing the need to fill a desperate void within our local community, we created an innovative program that maximizes independence, social maturity and spiritual growth for students with disabilities who are graduating or aging out of the school system. We also provide an answer to the question that many parents and caregivers ask themselves: "If something happens to me, what will happen to my loved one with disabilities?"
At Hope & Thrive Academy, students experience a more fulfilling life through applications learned and opportunities experienced within our program. Students move towards attaining maximum independence as demonstrated by optimal employment, physical well-being, and independent living skills; and maximum social maturity as demonstrated by increased social engagement, self-control, and taking individual responsibility for personal well-being.
Hope & Thrive Academy is a tuition-based program. Tuition fees are determined on a sliding scale and based on the household income. Scholarships are available.
