Description:
Serves children and families at risk of being committed to State custody, coordinates services for children in state custody, reunifies children with families after state custody. Children at risk of coming into, or already in, state custody, ages birth to 18; persons wishing to adopt or be a foster parent in the state; persons in the state wishing to adopt or foster a child; persons wishing to report suspected child abuse or neglect. To become a foster or an adoptive parent, you can be married, single or divorced; may or may not have other children; can own your own home or rent, can work full time; must be at least 21; must be a resident of the State of Tennessee; and must be able to meet the financial and emotional needs of your own family.
