Description:

Offers a wide range of child services, including adoption, foster care, child placement for children taken into state custody, child protective services, juvenile justice programs and child abuse reporting, prevention and counseling. Provides alternative family living arrangements in agency-supervised private family homes for children and youth who have been neglected, abused or abandoned and are no longer able to live with their birth families through the foster care program. Adoption program is also responsible for post-adoption functions, putative father registry, sealed centralized record storage, and coordination of adoption assistance activities for regional offices.

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Intake Process:

Call to begin the application process for foster care or adoption, which includes 30 hours of PATH training, finger printing, reference checks, and an extensive background check.

Eligibility:

Residents of Benton, Carroll, Crockett, Dickson, Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Houston, Humphreys, Lake, Obion, Stewart and Weakley Counties; Foster families eligibility: 18 years or older, single or married, renters or homeowners, employed or unemployed, with or without children, who are US Citizens who have lived in Tennessee for at least 6 months. Must be able to financially meet their own needs and in good health. See website or call for adoption eligibility requirements. Persons wishing to find their birth parents may call for information.
