Kingsport Senior Center

Description:

The Senior Center is open to all seniors age 50 and older. The yearly membership fee is $25.00 for Kingsport City residents, $45.00 for Sullivan County residents, and $70.00 for those living elsewhere. Membership fees are due July 1st and cannot be pro-rated.

Many classes and activities are offered each semester. The year is divided into three semesters: Spring (January through May), Summer (June through August), and Fall (September through December). Recent classes include:

Class and activities selection varies semester to semester.

The Center has many opportunities for recreation, with a card room, billiard room, gym, and exercise room, as well as a complete wood shop.

The Center has one dance per month and many seasonal and special events. They also have "Country Day" every September and a Health Fair every October.

NOTE: Accepts craft items such as basket caning, quilt material, clay or ceramic tools, or hard-back books (not Reader's Digest) in addition to other donations.

Meals On Wheels serves meals on Monday-Friday at 11:30am for $2.00. This is for seniors age 60+. Must fill out an application with Meals On Wheels (423-247-4511) and give 3 days notice. If you need to be screened, call FTAAAD @ 423-928-3258.
