Description:
Provides Memphis outreach contact for TN Voices for Children, who serves all of West TN. Statewide Family Support Network provides support groups for families of children with emotional and behavioral disorders, advocacy for children with these issues in juvenile courts, schools and DCS if needed. Offers training and technical assistance, comprehensive and integrated system of service responsive to cultural diversity, education and mobilization to remove barriers negatively affecting services for children, quarterly newsletter and Annual Families Conference. Specific trainings include: Common Sense Parenting, Parent 2 Parent Advocacy Training, Nurturing Parenting, Strengthening Families, Youth Mental Health First Aid Training. The Memphis Outreach Specialist covers all of west TN, but main phone number goes to the main state office in Goodlettsville, TN, as the Memphis office site closed; however local Memphis staff care available and can be contacted through the main tollfree number.
