Organizations that operate a crisis line, helpline, or suicide prevention line, an information and referral program or other type of call center and are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience to staff the line on a voluntary basis without remuneration. "Call centers" refers to reservations centers, help desks, information lines or customer service centers which use sophisticated telephone technology, regardless of how they are organized or what types of transactions they handle.
Substance Use Disorder Prevention/Treatment Volunteer Opportunities
Organizations that are actively seeking individuals who are willing to work on a voluntary basis without remuneration providing supportive services for men and women who have or are at risk of an alcohol and/or other drug use disorder. Tasks may include helping with intake, participating in drug and/or alcohol prevention programs for the community, serving as advocates for the availability of substance use disorder services or being involved in other substance use disorder prevention or treatment programs.
