Description:

StreetSolid is a non-profit who works with both in-school and community organizations to assist under-resourced and justice involved male youth and young adults by offering programs that build relationships, foster social emotional learning and help to change mindsets via cognitive behavioral training. School based programs work with targeted male youth in grades 8-12. The community based young adult program works with young male adults who are no longer in school, many of whom have been formerly involved with the justice system. All programs foster the actualization of potential and strive to help participants become engaged participants in the communities in which they live. Curriculum offers anger management and trauma informed social, emotional and cognitive group therapy to maximize potential, decrease juvenile delinquency and recidivism and anti-social behavior. The in school program then focuses on career and college readiness for students. Serves persons in Cheatham, Davidson and Rutherford County. Currently working with organizations in Nashville in zip codes 37208, 37209. 37213 and 37218.

Eligibility:

School Based Program: At risk male youth in grades 8-12 in local public school systems; Community based program: Males over 18 who are no longer in school and may have formerly been justice involved (though this is not a criteria to participate); serves male youth and young adults in Cheatham, Davidson and Rutherford counties
