Intake Process:
Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number (800-273-8255) and press 1 to indicate that you or someone you know is a Veteran or an Active Duty Service person. By selecting this option, the caller is automatically connected to a VA-operated call center, staffed by specially trained professional crisis workers. Among the specialized services provided by the veterans hotline is the capability of connecting the veteran to his or her local VA Suicide Prevention Coordinator for priority follow-up. Also available via text or website's chat function; TEXT 838255.
