Provides Veterans Chat which enables veterans, their families and friends to chat anonymously online with trained VA counselors. If chatter is determined to be in crisis, counselor can take immediate steps to transfer the person to VA Suicide Prevention Hotline, where further counseling and referral services are provided and crisis intervention steps can be taken. In Memphis, may also contact local VAMC Suicide Prevention Coordinator at (901) 523-8990 x 7. Veterans may also call the Lifelink Suicide Prevention number (1-800-273-8255) and press "1" to be connected to the Veterans Suicide Prevention Hotline or TEXT 838255
or simply dial 988.
