Description:
Southern Reins Center for Equine therapy is located in Collierville, TN and offers adaptive horseback riding, Occupational Therapy incorporating Hippotherapy, Making Strides Recreation Therapy, Silver Stirrups Program, Unbridled Horsemanship Program, PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes, the TEACH Program, and Pony Pals.
Southern Reins offers sessions throughout the year and all riding and activities are conducted by PATH Intl. certified riding instructors, AHA certified therapists and mental health professionals.

Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Intake Process:
Call for appointment, email, or apply online; new participant paperwork is required which includes release of liability form, and medical or other records, and/or referrals if indicated
Program Fees:
Fees apply for most programs, except the PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes, which is free for active, reserve and retired military personnel and first responders who have been physically or mentally injured in the line of duty; some programs are offered both to individuals as well as groups. Scholarships may be available.
Eligibility:
Each program has different age requirements or targeted groups, but the programs serve persons with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities and hardship; children must be at least five years old to participate in adaptive riding and 2 years old to participate in Occupational Therapy incorporating Hippotherapy.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers needed for barn help, equine care, special events, special projects and internships. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old to assist with lessons, and at least 12 years old to help in the barn. Contact Meredith Massa to apply (email: meredith.massa@southernreins.org)
