TN Dept of Health - TN Tobacco Quitline (1-800-QUIT-NOW)

Description:

Provides free personalized telephone and online support to Tennessee residents who want to quit smoking, chewing tobacco or e-cigarettes. Callers who enroll in a cessation program are connected with a trained quit coach who guides them through the process of quitting tobacco use over the phone for the first year. The service is confidential and both English and Spanish are available, as well as services for the deaf and hard of hearing. When funding is available, coaches can provide 2 weeks of nicotine patches for free.

The Quitline also offers texting service to clients who text "QUIT" to 615-795-0600. Individuals who choose this service will not be eligible to receive Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) patches used to quit smoking. NRT is available to those who call.

Mon - Fri 7:00 am - 10:00 pm; Sat 8:00 am - 5:30 pm; Sun 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Central Time

Intake Process:

Call for intake interview or join online. Staff will gather basic personal information, then assign caller to a professionally trained quit coach whom the caller can contact for support and information; may also download a pdf document from the website which contains resources to help persons stop smoking at: www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/health/documents/TQL_CessationDirectory.pdf
