Notice: 04/14/2022 - COVID-19 Modified Access: STEP TN will be available every Tuesday from 1PM until 4PM, participants (new and enrolled), must be on-site by 3:30PM to guarantee that they will be able to be seen that day / We still will have testing options available for anyone that is interested in completing rapid HIV/HCV testing / Our location will still be at the same site; however, to limit the number of people in the clinic, we will be set up outside in the parking lot with our mobile unit / Any questions should be directed to gudgerd@etsu.edu or 423-930-8337 x117 /

STEP TN, offered in partnership with ETSU Health Infectious Disease Clinic and Cempa Community Care, is a completely anonymous program / Participants don't need any photo ID / First visit is approximately 15-20 minutes, subsequent visits are generally short and based on participant need /
Services:
Walk-In Syringe Exchange Program: The purpose of the program is to provide people who use drugs with the resources they need to inject safer and live a more healthy life / Participants are met with compassion above all else, and never looked at with judgement or stigma / Through our harm reduction services, we strive to reduce overdoses, transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C and other infectious diseases, and increase access to treatment /
Naloxone (Narcan / Kloxxado) Training: Includes 2 doses to help with any potential opioid overdoses. Narcan (4mg nasal spray); Kloxxado (8mg nasal spray) /
HIV Testing: Linkage to treatment is available based on results / Insurance not required /
HCV (Hepatitis C) Testing: Linkage to treatment is available based on results / Insurance not required /
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV Prevention): Medication for people at risk of getting HIV to prevent infection (options include one pill, once per day; or one injection every 2 months) / Insurance not required /
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV Prevention): Emergency use medication after a single high-risk event to stop HIV infection / PEP MUST be started WITHIN 72 hours of possible exposure / Insurance not required /
HIV Treatment: Onsite center for ongoing medical care and support for individuals diagnosed with HIV / Insurance not required /
HCV (Hepatitis C) Treatment: Specialized care for Hepatitis C treatment / Individuals can be CURED in as little as 8 weeks with appropriate adherence to care / Insurance not required /
