Description:
The General Assembly is comprised of the Senate and House of Representatives, who are responsible for making laws for the state of Tennessee. Generally, legislative sessions last from mid-January through late April or May of each year. Guided tours are available to the public at no cost Monday - Friday on the hour from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
Hours:
The Capitol is open to the public Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. The Capitol is closed weekends and holidays. During Legislative sessions, the hours the Capitol is open to the public are extended if either of the two houses of the Legislature is still in session.
Intake Process:
Visitors are asked to enter the Capitol using the West entrance. Visitors are required to pass through metal detectors and show photo identification when entering the Capitol.

There is no fee to visit the Capitol.
