Description:

The Public Works Convenience Centers provide a convenient way for Davidson County residents to dispose of excess residential trash, recyclables, and other waste items that are not accepted in the curbside trash and recycling program. Residents are limited to 2 visits per day. Vehicles with commercial tags will not be allowed to enter. Commercial waste materials will not be accepted.

Intake Process:

All loose residential trash must be bagged. Residents are allowed three bags per visit at no charge. Refrigerators are allowed at East and Ezell Pike Centers only. Small amounts of carpet/carpet pad allowed at East, Ezell Pike, and Omohundro Centers only, and pad must be separated from carpet.

Electronic waste (cell phones, computers, computer accessories (limit of one computer system/month), DVD/VCR players, e-book readers, fax machines, monitors, printers, tablets, and televisions are allowed at East, Ezell, and Omohundro Convenience Centers.

Convenience Centers accept all curbside recycling materials and glass as well as excess residential trash and other waste items not accepted in curbside trash or recycling carts.

Program Fees:

Tires with rims $4.00/each; tires without rims: no charge (limit of 4 tires/month); mattresses and box springs: $5.00 each (up to 4 total/month); small trailers (less than 4'x6'x1'): $6.00; standard pickups (level loads to top of truck rails): $6.00; stacked pickup loads (from top of truck rails to top of cab): $12.00; all other loads/trailers: $12.00 per cubic yard (all trailers will be measured at centers). Fees are subject to change.

Metro residents, with valid Davidson County identification, can bring electronic waste to the East, Ezell Pike, and Omohundro Convenience Centers for recycling. Convenience Centers are for residential material only. Acceptable items include: Cellular Phones, Computers (limit one computer system per month), Computer components (cables, keyboards, mice, hubs, external drives, peripherals, etc.), Copiers, DVD/VCR Players, E-Book Readers, Fax Machines, Hand-held Electronics, Monitors, MP3 Players, Printers, Tablets, Televisions, Microwaves, Music/Video Cassettes and Disks, Pagers, Radios, Rechargeable Batteries, Scanners, Stereos, Smart Phones Unacceptable Items: Electronics from any type of business or commercial use, Truck or trailer loads of electronics, Any electronic waste in commercial or work vehicles, Any electronic waste from out of county residents.
