Description
YWCA's Weaver Domestic Violence Center provides temporary emergency shelter for women and their children and pets who have experienced domestic violence. Women and children are able to remain in the shelter for up to 45 days. Clients are referred to transitional housing options through the Metro Coordinated Entry System. One on one case management and counseling services are available to women and children while at the shelter. Male clients are housed at a separate facility and the same wrap-around services are also provided. At the Weaver Center, victims (both individuals and families) receive food, basic living accommodations and an array of trauma-informed services including mental health counseling; safety planning; support groups; childrenâs educational programming (including a Weaver Center Summer Camp); and wrap-around case management support for linkages to housing, transportation, legal assistance, employment, childcare, government assistance, health services, and more. In addition to the services provided at the Weaver Center, YWCA Nashville also operates a 24/7 Crisis and Support Helpline, and a 24/7 Text Line which victims can call/text for help. The Helpline is one of the primary entryways into the shelter.

Description
Provides free classes to help individuals prepare to take the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET). The majority of these classes are now online, but students will need to come to Nashville for some programs/events. 1. Their adult education program consists of free, high-quality, culturally-sensitive and family-focused programming in English and Spanish which helps adult learners earn their high school equivalency (HSE) diploma and obtain the skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. Twelve adult education classes are taught each week â six (6) in English, six (6) in Spanish. Classes are virtual except for Math which is held in-person at the Hispanic Family Foundation. New student orientations, study halls, practice test days, and official HiSET® (High School Equivalency Test) test days are all held in-person every month. The 'FLC' promotes sustainable income, a positive sense of self-worth, and increased community participation. The program helps families break intergenerational poverty and illiteracy by increasing their access to quality education and economic opportunities.

Description
YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee builds the skills of tomorrowâs leaders by providing two nurturing, hands-on youth programs â Girls Inc. and AMEND Together â for youth in under-resourced elementary, middle and high schools across Metro Nashville. Girls Inc. inspires girls ages 8-18 to be âstrong, smart and boldâ through life-changing experiences that develop through In-school Clubs, Summer Camp, Spring Break Camp, and more. Girls Inc. utilizes a hands-on, evidenced-based curriculum to help girls achieve healthy lives, succeed academically, and acquire the life skills needed to prepare them for adulthood and the workforce. AMEND Together, YWCAâs second youth program, serves boys ages 8-18 through In-School Clubs, Spring Break Camp, a Summer Camp partnership with 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, and more. Boys in AMEND Together explore topics such as healthy masculinity; healthy relationships; ways to prevent dating abuse and the importance of ending violence against women and girls.
