Description:
Walls, MS social services is one of six SHSM offices which provides assistance on a case by case basis for low income residents of Walls and Horn Lake, as well as the surrounding communities of Lake Cormorant, Western Eudora and Southaven in Mississippi. Offers emergency financial help with rent/mortgage, homelessness, prescriptions, gas money and utility assistance and other emergency needs. Provides emergency food (in the form of groceries from the food pantry or food vouchers for mobile pantry sites); and clothing, household items and furniture assistance in the form of vouchers to the thrift store (495 E Commerce Street in Hernando); and emergency home repair referrals for low income persons in need.
Hours:
Mon, Wed and Fri 9:00 am - Noon and 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm or by appointment; Tue and Thu by appointment only
Intake Process:
Call for assistance; must provide appropriate ID and other documents showing proof of income, etc., as requested

Must meet income requirements and reside in certain parts of Horn Lake, in Walls, Lake Cormorant, Western Eudora and immediate surrounding areas
