Description:
Provides utility assistance, rent and mortgage assistance and home weatherization assistance when funding is available. May assist with electric and propane bills; rent or mortgage help to eligible residents is determined case by case, usually with only a portion of total bill paid; mortgage payment assistance depends on lender guarantee that resident can stay in his home for at least another 30 days; home weatherization assistance is for a limited number of applicants per year. Phone calls only as office is currently closed.
Hours:
Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Closed for lunch from Noon - 12:30 pm)
Intake Process:
Call to apply for utility assistance; weatherization and rent/mortgage assistance have a waiting list.
Program Fees:
No Fee
Eligibility:
Call for details; all programs have income and other eligibility criteria (must make no more than 150% of federal poverty level) and household size requirements. For rent/mortgage assistance, seniors and persons with disabilities can call to be put on a waiting list; then they will receive a letter with a scheduled appointment time. Persons applying for weatherization assistance must also own their own home and make no more than 60% of the state median income.
